Connect your bank for automatic sync

Connect a bank once and its new transactions arrive in Tyms on their own. Use Stripe Financial Connections for US banks or Mono for Nigerian banks.

Before you start

  • Add the bank in Banking → Bank Accounts first.

  • Make sure no statement upload is running for this bank.

  • Sync brings in transactions from the start date you choose. For anything older than the earliest date allowed, upload statements.

Connect a bank

  1. On Banking → Bank Accounts, click ⋮ on the bank's card and choose Enable Sync.

  2. Under Choose a platform, pick:

    • Stripe Financial Connections for banks in the United States.

    • Mono for banks in Nigeria.

  3. Under Start pulling from, pick the first date to bring in. The hint below shows the earliest date allowed.

  4. Click Fetch from date and sign in to your bank in the window that opens. You sign in with the provider, not with Tyms.

  5. When you're back in Tyms, the card shows Syncing... and then Synced.

    Enable Bank Sync

Turn sync off

Click ⋮ on the card and choose Disable Sync. Transactions already brought in stay in Tyms.

Things to know

  • Tried before and it failed? Wait 24 hours before you try connecting the same bank again.

  • Watch for duplicates if you also upload statements for the same dates. The same payment can have a different description in a statement and in a bank feed, so Tyms can't always catch the duplicate.

  • Connections use your plan's bank sync allowance. If it's used up, the connect button stays disabled.
