How it works
Add your bank accounts. Each one becomes a card on Banking → Bank Accounts and an account in your chart of accounts.
Bring in transactions. Upload a statement, connect the bank for automatic sync, or add lines yourself.
Adam categorises them. Each line is matched to an account (for example Software and subscriptions or Service revenue), using your bank rules first.
You review. Fix anything that's wrong, split mixed payments, and match customer and vendor payments to their invoices and bills.
Reconcile. Check that the balance in Tyms matches the balance your bank shows.
The Bank Accounts page
Go to Banking → Bank Accounts. Each card shows:
On the card | What it means |
Tyms Balance | The balance worked out from the transactions in Tyms (your book balance). |
Bank balance | The latest balance you recorded or that came from a statement or sync, with its date. |
Upload statement | Opens the bank's statement upload. |
Reconcile transactions | Opens the bank's transactions. Shows a count when some lines need review. |
Balances don't match | Shown instead when the Tyms balance and bank balance differ. See Reconcile your bank balance. |
Chart | The balance trend for the last six months. |
Inside a bank account
Click a bank's name to open it. You'll find four tabs:
Bank transactions: every line, with its category and status, plus the Reconciliation summary.
Bank balances: the balances you've recorded over time.
Bank statements: upload statements and see past uploads.
Comments: notes for your team about this account.
