Production orders

A production order records a production run. It uses up raw materials, adds any labour and overheads, and puts the finished products into stock at their full cost.

Create a production order

  1. Open a composite item and click Actions → Create production order. To produce several products at once, go to the Composite items tab, tick them, and click Create production orders.

  2. Under Production details, check the Title, Currency and Date. Leave Batch number blank to number it automatically, e.g. PRO-10000.

  3. Under Items to produce, enter the Quantity. Producible shows the most you can make with the raw materials in stock. Tyms won't let you go over it.

  4. Optionally click Extend costs of production to add Overhead cost, Direct labour and Direct expenses, each with its account.

  5. Check Total cost of production, then the Entry accounts and Classification.

  6. Click Save as and choose:

    • Pending order: plan it now and start later.

    • Work in progress: production has started.

  7. Confirm with Yes, continue.
